I spent yesterday at IDS 12 and I must say that it was a beautiful show, even better than last year’s.
There was much to drool over, the hall had a nice vibe and I found the exhibitors and their representatives to be friendly and informative.
The show is still on today, so if you’re into design and you can make it down to the Metro Convention Centre it will be well worth it.
Here are a few shots I took to give you an idea of the variety of exhibitions.
It’s such a glamorous bedroom. Everything from the oversized crystal chandelier to the silky shag carpet, from the rhinestone cinched cushions to the mirrored night tables and from the glittery bedding to the bling in the tufting of the charcoal chair screams indulgence.
Take a look at this dining room which is one of a series of designs done inside shipping containers. I just love the lighting.
Tropics North had some modern water features and living walls.
The people of House and Home Magazine were out in full force. I saw many of them right at the entrance, serving pancakes and orange juice with the proceeds going to OneXOne. This is a photo of the magazine’s editor, Suzanne Dimma, at the House and Home booth in between tapings for their online series.
There were also many artists and art installations like this one by Seven Continents & Cindy Rendely Architexture.
Last, but by no means least, feast your eyes on this beautiful piece – a sublime combination of art and function. This table by North on Sixty is simply comprised of beaver boards and glass.
