Princess Margaret Showhome by Greenpark Homes
I recently took a tour of the latest Princess Margaret Showhome in Thornhill. It’s the grand prize in a lottery which benefits the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto and is valued at $3.79 million.
As you can see from the photo of its grand exterior, it is huge. In fact, it’s a 7662 square foot palace! Inside, it has been decorated in a luxurious, contemporary style by designer Jack Celli.
The home has many noteworthy features such as this spot (below) in the foyer. Here they’ve installed a tile with a raised design which adds some interesting texture to the space and shows us that tiles aren’t just for floors, bathrooms and backsplashes.
The formal living room is a sea of neutrals…

…but take a look at those lamps! If you look closely you’ll see that they are actually floor lamps.

The adjacent dining room is also very elegant but a touch too neutral for me.

I really loved the family room at the rear of the house. It has an organic feel with lots of texture and the introduction of some chartreuse tones. The wall behind the television is decorated with a stunning wall mural made of tile.

The games room has the usual toys but two other things caught my eye: the unusual installation of the wooden floor and the lounge chairs.

One of the bedrooms had a more modern feel with some great pops of orange.

I was surprised to see this snakeskin wallpaper on one wall but it adds some interest and keeps the room from being too predictable.

The bathrooms weren’t forgotten. This one had pebble floors and walls.

Another had walls with a metallic crushed rock texture.

Finally, the show-stopping master bedroom ensuite! I love the wall of quartz tile as a backdrop to the tub.
