Although I’m not much of a gardener, as the temperatures have been warming up and the “April showers” have started, I’ve been thinking about the beautiful flowers that will be blooming in May. Right now there are some little buds popping out and the grass is a bit greener, but for the most part my backyard looks brown and dead.
It’s hard to believe that in just a few weeks these luscious beauties will arrive!

All I have to do is sit back patiently and watch. Nature is amazing.

what beautiful peonies! i just love flowers as both of my parents are known and admitted avid gardeners! this is a flower not seen much in California because it needs a cold winter, right? beautiful photos!!!
I’m glad you like them! I think you’re right about peonies needing cold winters; you must have the gardening gene too! Thanks for reading and following my posts.
i am a confident rose grower but not such a great overall gardner. i guess you could say i am a specialty flower cultivator. always love gardening blogs especially for the tips and the photos!!
Wow peonies already you must live in a warm place mine our just popping their little heads up in the Pacific Northwest, Washington.
These pictures were from last year. I’m looking forward to seeing them again around the end of May.
I’m extremely jealous – the peonies at our farm are still under 2 feet of snow!
Sorry to hear about the snow! I actually took these photos last year. Our plants are just starting to show signs of life this month and I’m really looking forward to seeing them in full bloom by the end of May.
