Right now I’d much rather be lying on a lounge chair soaking up some sun and this magnificent view of the Sargasso Sea.
Sadly, the truth is that I’m in the heart of the city surrounded by bricks, concrete and the dust of neighboring construction. So, I’ve been thinking about how to bring the wonderful feeling of being in beautiful Horseshoe Bay into my modest bedroom without having it scream “Beach Theme” and look out of place in my home.
If I were to get going on the makeover right now, I’d start with this upholstered bed in a rich blue, to remind me of the deep blue ocean. I love how its contoured headboard mimics the rolling waves.
Crate and Barrel
This linen bedding brings back memories of the warm, soft sand.
The perfect touch of turquoise will come from this textured throw for the foot of the bed.

Matching chests of drawers in a worn zinc material, together with dark wooden floors, can stand in for the weathered rocks.
Restoration Hardware
Capiz shell pendants would look perfect over the chests and are more obvious reminders of the treasures to be found along the shore.

West Elm
A soft blue-green chaise will make a fine stand-in for a beach lounger.

Arhaus
How about a standing rope lamp for a subtle nod to all things nautical?
Last, but not least, we need a little taste of the island’s lush greenery.
Now, all I have to do is wave my magic wand!

Lovely post!!!! i wish i was there too!!
Thanks! It’s really such an unbelievably beautiful spot.
The blue bed is a nice departure from the norm of wood or beige upholstery. Love the linen linens too. The capiz light is a ‘forever’ piece that can moved to any room in the future. This will truly be a special and relaxing place. Now to find that fairy dust!
Thanks for reading my post! I’m glad to hear you like these pieces too. Couldn’t we all use a little fairy dust?!
