Have you ever heard of fairy gardens? They’re miniature gardens, indoors or out, which appear to have very small inhabitants, like fairies. You can usually find them at the foot of a shady tree, in a secluded corner of the garden or in a container. The thought is that creating an inviting little spot with pretty flowers, small decorations and a resting place will attract magical fairies to visit.
My friend at Busy Bee Studios recently came up with these whimsical little container fairy gardens. Besides being a nice touch of green in any room, I think they’re such a sweet and wonderful way to inspire a child’s imagination. The gardens in the first two photos are made entirely with artificial plants and flowers. This makes them extremely durable and worry-free for enthusiastic kids or for those of us without green thumbs.

Below, this one has real plants, a cosy cottage and even a little football, in case the fairies are feeling sporty. So cute!
If you’re interested, Busy Bee Studios is offering custom-made fairy gardens with artificial plants in the $50 to $80 price range. For more information, drop me a line at nicola@davisvilledesign.com

My daughter just made one out of a shoe box and paper clips!! She waits for her “fairy” everyday….these are much, much nicer….we will have to try!
Hi Daribix,
That sounds so sweet! Good luck with the project, I’m sure you’ll have a lot of fun making one together.
