I visited the Interior Design Show in Toronto this weekend and, as always, it was filled with inspiration.
It was a thrill to finally meet face to face with the Bloom Lounge Chair (above) at the Emily Quinn booth. I’ve long been intrigued by Kenneth Cobonpue’s whimsical flower-shaped chair but this was my first time seeing one in person. In magazine photos the petals have more folds and frills and the chair somehow seems more alive but still, it is incredibly imaginative, impressive and surprisingly comfy.

Woofstock 2012 is taking place in Toronto this weekend. It’s an outdoor festival for dogs and their owners complete with vendors and exhibitors, a dog fashion show, a Mr. and Ms. K9 Canada Pageant and other doggie events. If you’re interested in attending, it’s being held downtown by the the St. Lawrence Market where the surrounding streets are closed to traffic in order to accomodate thousands of human and canine attendees.
This year’s Interior Design Show will be held in Toronto from January 26th to the 29th. As usual, the show will feature cutting edge products and ideas for design novices and professionals alike. Since attending last year’s show I have not been able to forget the beautiful “live-edge” furniture I saw as well as some unique lighting which was created by transferring photographs to back-lit glass.
