In the heart of downtown Toronto, Leon is living the city life in a modern condominium apartment. His 731 square foot corner unit has expansive city views through south and east facing windows, however, its impeccable interiors are equally remarkable.

These days many of us are working from home occasionally, if not full time. Thankfully, huge innovations in technology have allowed our workplaces to adapt. However, some of us don’t have the luxury of an extra room to devote to an office and we’re at a loss as to where and how to set up a dedicated spot for working at home. With this in mind, I’ve found some great ideas for squeezing out some work space around your home.
I’ve long been drooling over the bedroom above which happens to have a very chic desk area. The mirror makes the desk less obtrusive and work-ish but, if need be, it could be replaced with a beautiful bulletin board for notes or shelves for storage.

My friend, Brenda, recently asked for help with her basement family room. Unfortunately there had been a water leak and some of the walls and carpet were ruined. Since she was going to have to re-paint and re-carpet it seemed like an opportune time to update the room overall.
The room has low ceilings, no windows and one wall that’s not square with the others, throwing the balance off a little. Brenda loves turquoise, so she hoped to work that colour into the room, and she also wanted a fresh airy feeling. A sofa and TV were a must and she hoped to continue to store her family’s book collection in that space.

It’s been three years since I first saw this home featured in a decor magazine and from the minute I laid eyes on it, I was instantly in love. It’s one issue I will never part with and one home that’s always on my mind.
I love the comfortable, livable look of the rooms. I’m crazy for the bright pops of color against the fresh, white background. I have fallen head over heels for the use of large, bold, colorful art for warmth and drama.

There seems to be a crochet craze happening these days and somehow or other the crocheted doily look has quietly crept its way back into both fashion and homes. It’s funny because for decades doilies have been the laughing stock of home decor. However, take one look at the breath-taking, modern Crochet Chair by Marcel Wanders (above and below) and you know for certain that crochet is now chic.
